What is coaching?
The ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.
When I put on my coaching hat, I do not function as a consultant, a mentor, a therapist, or a friend. I have no direction in mind for you, other than forward. I will not direct your choices or prescribe actions. My obligation is to create a reflective and supportive space, ask thoughtful questions, and help you structure your thinking so that together, we can discover your deepest values, the habits and beliefs holding you back, your hopes for the future. The coaching partnership is designed to unlock insights about how to take the next best step for your unique life and context.
I was initially trained as an engineer, and I still love the clear logic of a good flow chart! Check out the one here provided by the ICF to see where you land. :)
Who do I coach?
I believe that we are all leaders and change agents. I partner with people who want to building a meaningful life. To act intentionally. You can be an academic. Or not. You can be a student. Or not. You can be in industry. Or not. My intention as a coach is to empower anyone who is ready and willing to do their inner work to show up as their authentic self, embody their values, and move forward with intention. When we do that, we make the world a better place, all in our own unique ways. Coaching is a great way to invest in yourself and your growth.
